Every Post COVID Care facility offers different services and access to specialists. We have labeled each according to services offered: Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery (most comprehensive), Rehabilitation & Therapy (focus on rehabilitation) and Acute COVID-19 Recovery (focus on improved function after severe illness or hospitalization, often in-patient services). *Survivor Corps does not endorse any providers.

Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery

The GW Medical Faculty Associates are offering multi-disciplinary care for patients recovering from COVID-19 through the COVID-19 Recovery Center. The Recovery Center is co-directed by Dr. Monica Lypson and Dr. Aileen Chang from the Division of General Internal Medicine and Dr. Hana Akselrod from the Division of Infectious Diseases, with additional support from: Pulmonology, Cardiology, Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine, Psychiatry, Memory Clinic & Rehabilitation Medicine.

Patients at the COVID-19 Recovery Center will receive a comprehensive assessment and an individualized plan to help achieve optimal physical and mental recovery. After the initial assessment, patients will be further directed for specific tests or specialist consultations as needed.

Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery

Centra Health has developed a new program to support chronic COVID patients with lingering symptoms of COVID-19 after the acute phase of infection is over. The program provides a multidisciplinary approach representing ten medical specialties to help patients navigate the road to recovery. The goal of the program is to provide patients with a coordinated, individualized care approach and help them access medical services across a wide range of specialists.

The program meets weekly on Fridays from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

Rehab and Physical Therapy

The Post-COVID-19 Rehabilitation Program at Sheltering Arms is an outpatient therapy program designed to meet the needs of those who have recently had coronavirus that resulted in hospitalization, intensive care unit admission and/or impairments related to mobility, cognition and/or activities of daily living. This program offers post-COVID support in the form of physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or speech therapy services. Patients will also be evaluated for additional needs such as nutrition, medical psychology and physical medicine and rehab services as needed.

Each patient will be screened by one of the Program’s call center representatives before making an appointment. When calling to schedule an appointment, let the representative know you need services because you’re recovering from COVID-19.

Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery

The Post-COVID-19 Recovery and Rehabilitation Care Centers at Inova provide a wide array of interdisciplinary services with the goal of supporting recovery from physical, cognitive and psychological symptoms of COVID infection. Your Care Team May Include:

  5. Pulmonary Rehabilitation Specialists

  6. Mental Health Providers

Initial evaluations at Inova’s Post COVID-19 Care Centers will be individualized for each patient and are likely to include the following:

  1. Review of medical and pulmonary history

  2. Mobility, strength and balance assessment

  3. Cognitive assessment

  4. Assessment of activities of daily living, home management and return to work

  5. Screening for depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Eligibility: If you or someone you love has been suffering from post-COVID symptoms for more than two weeks after recovery from initial COVID-19 infection, you may benefit from an evaluation by one or more of Inova’s specialists.

Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery

The Post-COVID Clinic at Sentara Heart Hospital, started by Dr. Xian Qiao, is seeing patients who have prolonged symptoms following their COVID-19 infection, regardless of prior hospitalization. Commonly addressed symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, and brain fog. The Clinic helps post-COVID patients figure out which symptoms are linked to problems that can be treated.
