AABB is an international, not-for-profit association representing individuals and institutions involved in the fields of transfusion medicine and biotherapies. AABB is committed to improving health through the accreditation and educational programs and the development and delivery of standards that focus on optimizing patient and donor care and safety.
New York Blood Center is one of the largest independent, community-based, non-profit blood centers, providing lifesaving blood products and services to 200+ hospitals in NY, NJ, CT, PA. Our integrated operations ensure 2,000+ units of blood products are collected each day and distributed to more than 20 million people in the Tri-State area.
Each day, thousands of people at The American Red Cross provide compassionate care to those in need. Our generous network of donors, volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, at home and aboard. We roll up our sleeves and donate time, money and blood. We learn or teach life-saving skills so our communities can be better prepared when the need arises.
America's Blood Centers is a national organization representing community-based, independent blood centers. ABC advocates for and advances policies that promote the role of independent blood centers in providing life-saving blood components and a safe and robust blood supply. Our member organizations provide close to 60% of US, & 25% of Canadian blood supply and blood products and services to 3,500+ hospitals and healthcare facilities across North America.
Blood Centers of America (BCA) is the largest blood supply network in the US, sustaining, advocating and mobilizing the nation’s blood supply. Our 60+ community blood centers collect and distribute over 50% of the nation’s blood supply. Each member is an independent non-profit. Our network includes 365+ physical sites, 1000+ mobile sites, with hundreds of employees and utilizing thousands of volunteers.
ImpactLife is the new name for a 50+ year old not-for-profit community organization providing blood services to 120 hospitals in IL, IA, MO, and WI, with resource partners across the country. Previously known by three different names, ImpactLife operates 19 Donor Centers and holds 5000+ mobile blood drives annually to provide blood transfusions at hospitals throughout our region.
Blood Bank of Delmarva is a non-profit community service organization that provides blood and blood products to 19 hospitals on Delmarva Peninsula. More than 79,000 blood donations are needed annually for about 20,000 patients across Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Blood Bank of Delmarva merged with New York Blood Center in 2017.
Community Blood Center serves hospitals in Greater Kansas City, as well as eastern KS and western MO. CBC provides blood products to 70 area hospitals – and relies on volunteer donors each day to meet the need for life-saving gifts of blood. CBC provides immuno-hematology laboratory services and therapeutic apheresis to local hospitals.
Memorial Blood Centers has been saving and sustaining lives since 1948. A Minnesota-based, independent non-profit, we supply life-saving blood, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area hospital and clinic partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients from Australia to Switzerland.

Nebraska Community Blood Bank connects those who need blood with generous volunteers who give. We save lives by providing blood and biomedical services, through effective outreach to donors, continual development of biomedical expertise, and brand-building partnerships with the community, blood drive sponsors and health care facilities.
For more than 40 years, RIBC has been primary supplier of blood and blood products for hospitals in Rhode Island and throughout Southern New England. Mission: help save lives by ensuring a safe, plentiful and cost-effective blood supply. RIBC is also part of the National Marrow Donor Program (collecting stem cells for transplant at Providence location).
Carter BloodCare is an independent, community blood center providing transfusion resources to 180+ medical facilities in 50+ counties of north, central and east Texas. One of the largest in Texas, delivering 300,000+ blood products annually to local hospitals: AABB Accredited, FDA licensed, 501(c)(3) Non Profit organization and Member, America’s Blood Centers.
Hoxworth Blood Center (University of Cincinnati) was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals and medical centers in SW Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and SE Indiana. Vitalant is the nation’s largest independent, nonprofit blood services provider exclusively focused on providing lifesaving blood and comprehensive transfusion medicine services for approximately 1,000 hospitals and their patients across 40 states. Every day, Vitalant needs to collect about 5,500 blood and platelet donations to help save lives.
Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) is the 6th largest, non-profit blood collector in America, employing 700+ Oklahomans and works with 1,000 volunteers and 2,600 blood drive coordinators. OBI supplies blood to 160+ medical facilities in Oklahoma, including exclusive service to every hospital in the metro-OKC area. 125,000+ donors provide over 250,000 gifts of blood yearly for transfusion and clinical services.
The University Blood Initiative saw a blood supply crisis: low donor rates, disengaged youth, and barriers to sustainability and equitability. To combat this crisis, we created a movement using chapters at universities nationwide and partnerships with local blood centers in order to build a better future for America’s blood supply.
Bio-Linked™ is a secure, online registry for help identify recovered COVID-19 patients as potential donors of Convalescent Plasma (CCP). Users are linked with local healthcare organizations that collect this plasma. CCP is also used to develop hyper-immune globulin that may help COVID-19 patients in the future.
