Every Post COVID Care facility offers different services and access to specialists. We have labeled each according to services offered: Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery (most comprehensive), Rehabilitation & Therapy (focus on rehabilitation) and Acute COVID-19 Recovery (focus on improved function after severe illness or hospitalization, often in-patient services). *Survivor Corps does not endorse any providers.

Spaulding Rehabilitation Network Post COVID-19 Outpatient Rehabilitation Program
Rehabilitation & Therapy
The Spaulding Rehabilitation Network Post COVID-19 Outpatient Rehabilitation Program consists of a multidisciplinary physician-led team of physiatrists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and case managers. The Program will provide a number of services based on each patient’s individual post-COVID needs.
Patients will have an initial evaluation with a physiatrist to assess their neurologic, musculoskeletal, cognitive, and psychological needs,
Physical therapists will conduct evaluations following discharge and design an individualized, home-based exercise program to address the patient’s musculoskeletal, and neurologic impairments
Occupational therapy sessions will be offered to help patients who have difficulty performing activities of daily living including eating, bathing, dressing, and toileting.
Speech language pathologists will be offered to provide assistance with swallowing and cognitive impairments.
Ongoing rehabilitation care can be continued at a convenient Spaulding Outpatient Center site when in person visits are appropriate
Translator services are available for non-English speaking patients.
Virtual visits, outpatient rehabilitation and home-based rehabilitation are available.
Patients who are recovering from the COVID-19 novel coronavirus may experience various symptoms. Recovery from a critical illness affects everyone differently, and our team creates treatment plans to fit each individual. Some of the common symptoms following COVID recovery that the Program addresses include
Shortness of breath
Cough
Chest pain
Joint pain
Headache
Functional impairment
Weakness and balance problems
Deconditioning
Dysphagia
Spaulding welcomes patients who have tested positive and received treatment for Coronavirus to their COVID-19 recovery programs to help address and ease long-term affects. The COVID-19 recovery program helps address a wide range of physical symptoms following recovery and is available at all of their Outpatient Center locations.

Bay State Physical Therapy Post-Acute COVID Care
Rehabilitation & Therapy
Bay State Physical Therapy is now providing care to support Post-Acute COVID Syndrome (PACS) patients by utilizing the Mount Sinai program model. The Post-Acute COVID Care provided by Bay State Physical Therapy is developed based on a multidisciplinary approach to aid COVID patients in their physical recovery in which physical therapy is identified as a critical component. Patients experiencing the functional impacts of PACS, and unable to return to their desired level of function, can benefit from supervised 1:1 care through Bay State.
For patients struggling to return to their desired functional level, physical therapy can help address deficits such as:
Navigating stairs.
Daily activities of living.
Recreational tasks.
Work-related activities.
Each individual's care is tailored to their needs and speed of their recovery. The services provided during care may include:
Balance and falls assessment
Exercises and telehealth therapy techniques to improve muscle function and range of motion
Treatment of joint stiffness and mobility
Aerobic exercise education and monitoring
Walking assessment to improve and normalize pattern and ensure safety with community ambulation
Education on current physical and functional level with respect to future goals and safe progression
Strengthening exercises
Ergonomic work positioning for ability to return to work
Postural assessment and evaluation
Neurological screening and treatment
Bay State Physical Therapy offers many care options as part of their Post-Acute COVID Care services. Options include care delivered in physical clinics, through telehealth sessions, or a combination of in-clinic and telehealth treatment. These choices empower patients to receive care without the obstacles of the current COVID environment.
